January 21, 2012, we are having Brad McKee and the Disposable Heroes Project out to CrossFit by Overload.  This event is gonna be epic.  This will be the biggest DHP WOD by far.  We will have 2 wounded vets, 2 Hero WOD families, and some Navy Seals.

Brad and the veterans will be speaking, There will be a full Marine Corps Color Guard, A bugler will play taps, then we will be doing the DHP WOD.  After the wod, Brad will be presenting a gift to a veteran.

This event promises to be moving and uplifting.  The WOD itself is a great tribute to the vets and can be scaled accordingly.

The Disposable Heroes Project is committed to raising funds and awareness to assist wounded veterans and families of fallen soldiers in any way possible. We want to cater to any need those who have served for our freedom may have, whether it be by purchasing airline tickets for parents to see their fallen son’s ashes or making a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan’s dreams come true by surprising her with a tour of Fenway Park. We aim to ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten, and to show everyone that our troops are MORE THAN JUST A NUMBER. Often soldiers see themselves as disposable. They have one goal and if it takes giving their lives, they’re willing. We’re here to honor their goal.

Please bring your entire box out to participate in this great tribute to our heroes.

31 Heroes – Sat Sept 3rd

31 HEROES

We will be hosting this WOD at CrossFit Murrieta to rember and pay hommage to the fallen heroes of the Aug 5th tragedy.

31_heroeswebbanner2

Registration

On September 3, 2011 CrossFit gyms across the nation and world will gather together to honor our heroes killed in action August 5, 2011 with a workout in an effort to raise funds for the families affected by this tragedy. All funds received will go to these families through the Navy SEAL Foundation. 31 of America’s bravest have made the ultimate sacrifice for our sake. We can all agree that no workout will ever be enough to say thank you, but among this community it almost seems to be our version of the “moment of silence”, a small way we can honor the those that have gone before us. We hope you’ll join us for this moment of silence.

Partner WOD

AMRAP 31 Min (As Many Reps As Possible)
8 Thrusters (155/105)
6 Rope Climbs (15 ft. ascent)
11 Box Jumps (30/24)

This is a Partner WOD – Partner #1 will perform the work listed above. Partner #2 will run 400m with a bumber plate (45/25). Once Partner #2 returns from the run, Partner #1 will grab the bumper plate and begin their 400m, while Partner #2 continues work wherever #1 left off.

Score = Total # of reps

HEATS

The Heats are listed below for those climbing the rope and registered. Make sure you come before your heat time so you can warm up. Box will open at 8am.

If you are not climbing the rope you can come to any heat  (since the ropes are the only thing we wont have enough of) If you do not have a partner no worries lots of people dont so we will partner you up in the morning. If we have an uneven # the WOD can be done as an individual.

If you are not registered but want to come… then do! Anyone can do the WOD even if you cannot donate to the fund.
